Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP) provides free legal assistance to low-income individuals in Dallas, ensuring access to justice in civil matters like family law, housing, employment, and more. Through volunteer attorneys and legal clinics, DVAP offers guidance, advocacy, and representation to those who cannot afford an attorney.

SMU Innocence Clinic

The SMU Innocence Clinic & the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office join together to fight against wrongful convictions. Law students find evidence that would support post-conviction relief years after the wrongful convictions and work to exonerate their clients.
